Diet

The Ocelot’sdiet consists nocturnalanimals, mice, rabbits, young deer, rodents, rats, birds, snakes, pacarana, pacas, agouti, young  peccaries, lesser anteater,  armadillos,  iguanas, tree lizards, frogs, crabs, crocodilians, small turtles, and fish. Duringseason changes, they will takeadvantage. For example, when it is the raining part of the year, wet season, they will hunt theabundant fish and crabs. The ocelot mostly hunts prey on theground, but sometimes it catches birds and monkeys intrees.The ocelot is a private creature, but sometimes hunts with another ocelot that it calls for with meows like a house cat.
In zoos they eat Chicken necks, carnivore diet, pigeon wings

Methods

The ocelot hunts quietly and quickly, flowing it prey until it is has gotten close enough to it. Then it attacks.  Ocelot will enter water unwilling to hunt for fish, but they would rather not because the large open space. Ocelots prefer to hide and ambush. They also hunt in trees.
The majority of ocelots have two strategies. The first one is called the “Hunting Walk”: when it spots its prey, stalks, and pounces. The second method is the “Sit and Wait”: the ocelot will wait for thirty minutes to over an hour until it spots something.
Ocelots have retractable claws. It is important to have them because you need to keep them sharp to grab prey. An additional factor that helps its hunting is vision that can see through the night, and is 6 times better than a human’s. It also has excellent hearing.
